Like last edition this time also the t20 World Cup 2016 scheduled to be held in India , the tournament will feature 16 teams. All ten full members e.g Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New-Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka, West Indies an Zimbabwe will qualify automatically, and will be joined by the six Associate Members out of Ireland, Netherlands, Afghanistan, Scotland, Nepal, Hong Kong, Unite Arab Emirates, Papua New Guinea to qualify through the 2015 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier to be played in Ireland and Scotland between July 6-26 2015. The top eight teams in the ICC T20I Championship rankings automatically progress to the Super 10 stage, unless one of the top eight is an associate in which case the next ranked full member will progress in their place. The remaining eight teams compete in the group stage, from which two teams advance to the Super 10 stage
